Refresh yourself in the cool water "pools" of the unique Moramo waterfall, which is found about 65 km south of Kendari.

Running through dense jungle, it covers a plateau of two kilometers with a total of 127 separate little cascades.

The falls consist of multiple calc-sinter walls with large natural bathtubs.

On the way to the waterfall you already get an impression of the colorful wildlife of the jungle.

Gorgeous butterflies shining in every color variation you can imagine might be easily observed at the water puddles....

Along this milelong dark sand beach north of Kendari you can watch out for the rare Maleo, an ancient type of birds, laying their eggs.

A short hiking trail up to the hill at the end of the bay leads to the Goa Kelelawar, a bat cave.

You can observe hundreds of bats taking off during early dawn. From here, you can also enjoy the spectacular view over the whole bay.

Taipa-Beach

The beach is completely devoid of stones and runs slowly into the shallow sea - ideally suited for young children or people who can't swim or are too afraid of unknown tropical waters.
